Executive couple Russell and Jo clock up hundreds of thousands of air miles every year.

Russell is IT expert. He’s called in by banks the world over when they are upgrading their internal communication systems. Jo is an accessories buyer for a major retail chain. Home is a sprawling modern house surrounded by bush, but close to the city.

They also have an apartment at Sunshine Beach that they try to use during January and whichever weekends they can, but it doesn’t happen often enough. They have three grown children.

Their youngest Courtney is in her final year of university on the Gold Coast and still likes to ‘crash at home,’ but she’s not there regularly enough to take care of the garden or reliably collect mail etc.

When Russell and Jo are home they want to exhale. They’re used to staying in top hotels, so it’s no pleasure to arrive home to piles of junk mail and stale milk in the fridge.

• Wine cellar audit and inventory arranged.
• Cars checked to see the engine turns over – no flat batteries etc.
• Cars cleaned.
• House guttering and surrounding scrub cleared for bushfire safety.
• Family holiday to Broome planned.
• Arranging a post office box.
• Weekly pickup of mail and delivery on day of Russell or Jo’s return.
• Purchase new sheets and towels.
• Order ham, salmon and oysters for Christmas dinner.
• Research upgrade of air-conditioning.
• Arrange typist to help Courtney with final assignments.
• Organise cleaning of ornamental fish pond.
• Plan celebratory dinner (catering) for Courtney’s graduation.
• Arrange repair of Russell’s dress watch.
• Shop for new plasma televisions for Sunshine Beach apartment.
• Obtain quotes for house to be painted.
• Source birthday gift for Jo. Russell wants to give her a first-edition copy of To Kill A Mockingbird.
