Jane Moharich | Concierge
There’s no much spontaneity these, nor do we allow time for it.
These day’s we don’t allow for the “drop in”. We should get at least a 15 minute warning of an impending visit, this precious time is needed to quickly pick up the junk from the floor, put coffee cups into the dishwasher, banish the trashy magazines and add a swish of Harpic around the toilet bowl!
Friends and family drop in for company, not for a house inspection – so why do we often get ourselves in a tizz?
Is Martha Stewart to blame if your cushions aren’t plumped? Is Nigela to blame if your afternoon tea consists of broken Milk Arrowroot biscuits rather than a gooey freshly baked brownie? Is MasterChef to blame if you can’t whip up a 3 course meal from your mystery pantry rather than a mystery box?
If you have somewhere to sit, be it around the kitchen table or on the back step, a glass from Woolies (c.1986) to fill with plain ole tap water, who actually cares? Your visitors come to see you.
Take some time, and take the pressure off, laugh at the chaos and connect.
However, if you find yourself too overwhelmed to even have a visitor come inside and move the latest copy of Who off the couch, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!
The Concierge Collective is a resource you can use, to create more time for you… From a professional organiser to put systems in place for your kitchen, home office or wardrobe to de-cluttering your garage and making your garden a useable space – it is possible to create time for you and #timetolive.
