It feels like we only just had Christmas, but all of a sudden, it’s almost Easter already.

The long weekend provides a great chance to have some much-needed time out, and if you’re the type that likes to escape the city every chance you can get but haven’t booked anything for Easter yet, we have some last minute options for you.

If you plan on staying in and avoiding the crowds and traffic, we have some unique ideas to keep you entertained.

If you’re adventurous

The Annual Byron Bay Blues & Roots festival still has some tickets available, so why not pull out that tent and have an experience you’ll be sure to remember for a long time. There is also some accommodation still available in the Byron area. Find out more.

For families

Moreton Island is the perfect place for families to have fun snorkelling, fishing and swimming. Or just spend the days relaxing with a good book! Read more.

If you want to be on island time

We’d love to inform you that there were rooms left for Easter at One & Only’s Hayman Island Resort, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Why not book for the weekend after Easter for a short getaway? Or book ahead for next year. If you’ve never used Air BnB before, there are still some amazing rooms available in the Whitsundays – so get in quick!

For a couples weekend away

Escape to tropical North Queensland to stay at Thala Beach nature reserve in Port Douglas – a superb way to unwind from the stresses of your daily life and spend some quality tech-free time with your spouse.

Want to go somewhere a bit closer to home? Ever-popular Noosa will be a hive of activity this Easter, but if you don’t mind the crowds, there is still some last minute accommodation available here.

If you have a bit more time

If the Greek islands have always been on your wish list, Style Magazines recently put together a guide. We know it’s a bit unrealistic to plan for Easter weekend, but it had us dreaming so we included it anyway.

Staying in

Looking for the best Hot Cross Buns in ? We’ve got the low down.

The spectacular Walking with Dinosaurs is on at the Entertainment Centre all Easter long weekend. Click here for tickets.

Need some inspiration for a new bar or restaurant to try? Check out the Urban List.
