While spring means spring cleaning, it’s not only your home that needs attention.
Peter Walsh, author of Enough Already suggests these 5 tips to help clear the clutter from your life, and we couldn’t agree more!
- Overcome obstacles that prevent you from letting go of material possessions. It doesn’t matter if it was exdpensive or if you might need it one day. If it doesn’t serve the vision you have for the life you want, it has to go.
- Make changes. Only by changing the role possessions play in your life will you be able to stop buying more things and let go of the clutter that impedes you.
- Create a vision for the life you want and the space you live in or share with your partner. Every item in that space should contribute to your vision.
- Face your fears. Sometimes clearing away the emotion and physical clutter forces you to face hard truths about yourself and your relationships. Don’t hid behind your stuff. Get rid of it and face the bare truth.
- Live in the present in terms of your career. This is the job you have now. Don’t allow yourself to work in an unpleasant space because you hope it will change one day.
