With everyone returning to work this week and back into the swing of everyday life after the long weekend, the memory of your recent holiday escape soon fades. The realities of busy working life have returned and we find ourselves counting down the days until the next long weekend or planned vacation.

What if we told you we know a way that you can incorporate the things you love about your holidays into your daily grind?

Instead of waiting for your next holiday, why not make some time to create a small escape to enjoy before your next scheduled holiday! Here are our top four ways to create a mini escape.

1. Book in your yoga class (pre-pay so you don’t flake out) and make sure you arrive with enough time to spare to lay flat on your back for ten minutes before class starts. You can even BYO a relaxing essential oil blend to rub on your temples. Imagine you’re in a faraway place where there’s no such thing as emails or bills to be paid. Try not to check your phone as soon as you finish the class, so that you can stay in your blissful state until you arrive back home.

2. Instead of eating lunch at your desk, head to your nearest green space. On the way, purchase the latest issue of Harpers Bazaar or another favourite mag, sip a coffee, eat your lunch and chill under a tree – instead of being cooped up in the air conditioning! The fresh air will do wonders for your productivity and you’ll get a good dose of Vitamin D.

3. A massage, facial, mani or pedi (or all four!) are always great mini escapes. Leave the kids with hubby, and make a morning of it with some girlfriends, followed by cocktails and lunch. Nothing like a midday Margarita to make you feel like you’re on holiday.

4. On your way home from work, pop in to an exotic food grocer to cook a dish from a favourite holiday destination. Spend some time browsing the aisles listening to the employees speaking a foreign language so you can pretend you’re not in Australia, just for a few moments! Take your time cooking chosen dish, and even buy a matching beverage to suit. Argentinian wine, anyone?!

In the rush of every day life, remembering to create time for a mini escape can be really tough. Often we are caught up in that tiresome to do list that tends to take priority.

A Casual Concierge will take away some of those every day tasks when you need to free up some time and will be your passport your favourite escape…
